As the global financial crises slowly releases the tight grip from the economies in the western countries, here in Albania and Macedonia we are still feeling the effects and the aftermath from the global financial storm. This has prompt the Governments to reduce the national budget, small companies have difficulties in paying their dues and lots of them are forced to call it an end of doing business. The Macedonian Stock Exchange Market is in a state of a deep hibernation where little or nothing has been traded in recent months and foreign investors are not even remotely interested to enter in more serious business ventures. Overall, judging by the current developments it seems like we are facing a year ahead full of uncertainties.
We have left behind one very difficult year and most of all we have lost a great leader. The Founder of VeVe Group, Mr. Vebi Velija, passed away last year leaving behind a big void to be filled and many of his visions to be achieved.
Since then, VeVe Group has repositioned itself to a more modern, dynamic and vibrant company implementing standards and values of those of the companies from the western countries, employing people from different EU nationalities and sharing knowledge and competences acquired from different cultures. Our previous experience, fresh brainpower and know-how confidence are placing us in a more superior position by far, compared to one of our competitors.
I would say that now is the time when we should “seize the day” as we cannot afford to waste our time or energy on predicaments of a nature how bad or worse the economy will come to, but we have to act fast and continue to find our own ways to make “things” happen.
On the same note, we have several ongoing projects in our main sectors like the energy, construction and infrastructure and many business contacts and partners who have already expressed their interest for collaboration. Our latest commercial project and probably the most exciting is the construction of a vast commercial business centre in Skopje for which we are almost sure that it will be one of a kind.
Kosovo yet remains a big challenge for us and it is of our great interest for pursuing our future business dealings. It is a country where different ethnicities have still to learn to live together, something essential and necessary for a functional market. I think one of our main contributions there should be to inspire such social acceptance. As a matter of fact, getting involved in projects that bring foreign investors in Albania and Macedonia has been and remains one of our main priorities. We serve as a bridge between foreign investors, opportunities and business reality.
I am certain we will have a very busy year ahead; moreover I am looking forward to it. Who said that the future is bleak, I think it will be rather bright, at least for VeVe Group.
Sincerely,
Ferik Velija,
President & CEO
