Project description and VeVe Group engagements
VeVe group has been a technical and public affairs consultant to Energji Ashta, a project company of Austrian Verbund and EVN from the beginning of this project (letter of interest, 2006).
Our main tasks include public affairs consulting services with state and local government, assistance for EIA, SIA permits; support on construction related matters, stakeholder management and various public relation activities.
HPP Ashta is expected to deliver electricity for more than 100,000 Albanian households, create new jobs and gives a positive impulse to the region and the country. At the end of the 35-years-concession period the HPP will be returned back to the Republic of Albania.
The total capacity of the two HPPs with Matrix turbines amounts more than 50 megawatts; 242 million kilowatt hours are to be generated annually. The start of construction for the upper power plant started in May of 2010; 200 million Euros will be invested. From 2012, the electricity generated will be fed into the Albanian 110-kV grid.
